I've got the 09 and it's

I've got the 09 and it's sick. never ridden a track bike, or a road bike before, didn't try it before i bought it, just ordered it out of faith in SE's reputation.
My background is dirt jumping and downhill, and a bit of street bmx as a grom, so to me, this thing felt so fast i couldn't believe it.
now on my way to work i'm passing heaps of lycra instead of watching them whizz by me on my mtb.

i rode this beast for a week or two free wheel, now i've been riding it fixed for about three weeks and i'm not looking back. so sick.

i still don't understand why the lycra is nessessary, i go just as fast with one speed in my boardshorts.

i got the 08 edition- i

i got the 08 edition- i agree w/everything u say. passing by lycra- wearing high enders on a fixed gear...so awesome.
oh, and speeding by in ur boardshorts...HELL TO THE YES!

I got one a few months back

I got one a few months back and am really enjoying it. I've now started riding the 15+ miles to and from work instead fo the 2 miles to the neaest train station.

As someone new to single gear riding it's been a great introduction for the money. In fact it's proving a great base for upgrading as I learn more. It's easy to skid using the pedals and easy to track stand, with a bit of practice. Pretty relaxed geometry which I'm gonna sharpen up in a bit with a less raked fork. It needs a few upgrades from the off, such as better tyres and saddle. I've since switched to the fixed hub and a lower gearing (by replacing the rear cog). I've had loads of positive comments which is a nice bonus.

I tried the aluminium Specialized Larger - not good for rough back streets here in London. I also tried the Charge Pug which I liked, great goemetry but a really heavy frame and 100 big ones more expensive.

Of course it's not perfect but you really need to know your fixies to chose the perfect one for you and it could well cost you over a £1000.

ah its ok but if you don't

ah its ok but if you don't weigh too much go with a lighter bike with a better turning radius. this is like driving a big van.
